Since I’ve already brought up the topic of model scaling, I also have some suggestions regarding how custom textures behave when changing the model’s size in Blokoto.
Earlier today, I was experimenting to see how custom textures within a model would react when I changed the model’s scale. At first, I thought the texture scale would stay the same regardless of whether I increased or decreased the model size. However, I noticed that it actually behaved in the opposite way: when I increased the model size, the texture scale would shrink, and when I decreased the model, the texture would become larger.
So let’s go:
Suggestion 1: Custom Texture Scale Should Match Model Scale
Unless there are strong reasons not to, I personally think the best approach would be for the texture scale to follow the model’s scale. If a player is working with a smaller model, it’s very likely they’d also want a smaller texture scale to match, and vice versa.
Suggestion 2: Make the Behavior Optional
Even though I believe the first suggestion would make for a better default in Blokoto, I can totally see some players actually preferring the current system where scale behaves inversely. So… why not give builders the option to choose the behavior that works best for them? If this is possible to implement in the game, then the first suggestion would still be the ideal default, as explained above.
